Get Some Perspective!

Your city needs you! That's the call from The City of Ely Perspective, which is inviting anyone with an interest in our great little city to get involved.

Find out how at a public meeting starting at 19:30 on Tuesday evening, 15 October, starting at 19:30 at the Cathedral Centre (next to The Minster Tavern).

Since its launch in 1998 the City of Ely Perspective has kick-started a variety of initiatives such as the 'WELCOME TO ELY' road signs, Ely in Bloom, the Christmas lights switch-on, the Eel Trail and the regeneration of the Waterside area, as well as a series of commemmorative plaqyes and plans to facelift Steeple Row.

"All of us are volunteers, aiming to build upon the character and distinctiveness of Ely, always aiming to make it a better place in which the whole community can happily live, work and play. You can see some of our achievements and our current projects, but we also want ideas for future projects," said Chairman John Simmons.

"Membership is open to everyone with a little time and expertise that could benefit our great little city. With the considerable challenges coming from significant expansion planned for the city, only a wide spectrum of members will produce the best results", John added.

The City of Ely Perspective is non-political and representatives from clubs, societies, community organisations, business and public sectors and individual residents too, are all welcome. Membership is free. There will be drinks, nibbles and the chance to meet the officers and members of groups active in matters of Design, Marketing and the Riverside.
